We usually have sunny, dry, warm-to-hot weather in Arizona.   It’s not often that we cancel anything because of weather.   But when the weather does change, it can get freaky.   I was shocked at the number of trees that simply fell over after rain fell out of sky almost sideways from the whipping wind.   As I drove through the neighborhood,  spotted this poor little bush, pulled up by the roots of the tree.   Sure kept the landscapers busy!

I spent last weekend on a girl’s trip.  We went to Hood River, Oregon for some hiking, shopping, eating, and girl time.  Here are a few pictures from the trip.  This was our hike to Punchbowl Falls.  Very pretty and worth the effort.

Saturday after my friend went on 22 mile training run we all shopped in downtown Hood River.  This was the most awesome salad that I ate for lunch.  I’m not one of those photographers who always documents their meals with a photo, but doesn’t that look good?  Pears, hazelnuts, dried cranberries, gorgonzola, and raspberry vinegrette. Yummy!

Canvas on Demand has a cool new program for military families called Operation Hi Honey!    The program gives deployed military men and women a free fine-art canvas that will be presented to their spouse on their anniversary.  For details visit www.canvasondemand.com/hihoney.  I love it when companies are good to our troops.  Thanks Canvas on Demand!
