Earlier this month we celebrated my dad’s birthday. It’s always fun (and crazy) to get everyone together… you never know what is going to happen. Grandpa asked the kids to help blow out the candles and I was there to document it! The kids played upstairs, downstairs and outside. Towards the end of the evening I heard water running from the laundry room sink and went to investigate. My son’s answer to my question, “What are you doing?” was a bit jumbled but included the words “handcuffs” and “super glue”. Lots of things ran through my head at that point but fortunately it wasn’t as bad as it sounded. He was trying to glue a plastic key from his toy handcuffs back together and got some on his hands. I have to say… I’m a little nervous for the teenage years.

Shortly after having kids this became a saying in our house. Usually it is reserved for the period of time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but this year the tradition starts early. We’ve had anaphylactic reactions, bleeding ear infections, and a flu that had all the kids sleeping through Christmas. We still managed to have a fun Halloween, and the youngest even got an extra Halloween costume out of the trip to help with his breathing problems. Here are the pictures of our cuties dressed up for Halloween.

Once a year I visit my good friend in Hood River, Oregon. During my last trip I photographed a few adorable families at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. What a fabulous backdrop for these families! Here are a few images from the grounds.
