]]> http://www.gwendolyngracephotography.com/2012/01/the-preschooler-and-the-polish/feed/ 0 Happy Birthday! http://www.gwendolyngracephotography.com/2010/12/happy-birthday/ http://www.gwendolyngracephotography.com/2010/12/happy-birthday/#comments Fri, 10 Dec 2010 02:49:20 +0000 http://www.gwendolyngracephotography.com/?p=569 Earlier this month we celebrated my dad’s birthday.  It’s always fun (and crazy) to get everyone together… you never know what is going to happen.  Grandpa asked the kids to help blow out the candles and I was there to document it!  The kids played upstairs, downstairs and outside.  Towards the end of the evening I heard water running from the laundry room sink and went to investigate.  My son’s answer to my question, “What are you doing?”  was a bit jumbled but included the words “handcuffs” and “super glue”.  Lots of things ran through my head at that point but fortunately it wasn’t as bad as it sounded.    He was trying to glue a plastic key from his toy handcuffs back together and got some on his hands.  I have to say… I’m a little nervous for the teenage years.

Last weekend I went up to Strawberry with a group of women and teenage girls. The girls had a blast sledding on Saturday. I found a great spot to photograph the girls when their sleds went air born with smiles on their faces, snow flying, and hair waving in the wind.

Saturday after my friend went on 22 mile training run we all shopped in downtown Hood River.  This was the most awesome salad that I ate for lunch.  I’m not one of those photographers who always documents their meals with a photo, but doesn’t that look good?  Pears, hazelnuts, dried cranberries, gorgonzola, and raspberry vinegrette. Yummy!

Phoenix 3-Day Walk 2006

Attention Phoenix 3-Day walkers…I want to help!  I have made the 3-Day journey twice (2005 & 2006) in support of my mother, who was first diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer.  She had a mammogram every year, but dense breast tissue made the cancer difficult to spot until it was too late.  My mother died of breast cancer in 2007.
