Earlier this month I spent three days in New Orleans for Imaging USA. Yes, they had awesome classes. Yes, they had a great trade show with lots of new products to see, special deals, and a new portable light that any Star Wars fan would covet (more about that later). But the real draw for me was that I got to hang out with some family and for three days straight eat at the famous Cafe Du Monde to have the most amazing fried creation ever…beignets. BTW- next to that heaping plate of powdered sugar and fried dough is a diet Coke.

Recently I went to Palm Springs for my first Senior Portrait Artists SPA Event. I met lots of other photographers and learned from some of the bigger names in the business. Here are a few images I shot at the event. These shots were set up by fabulous photographers and features SPA model winners.

Last month I photographed a fundraiser called Krystal’s Kasino. Krystal is a young woman with stage 4 breast cancer and lots of medical bills. She is a small business owner, a wife and a mother of young kids. She is also blessed with a circle of loving and generous people who put together a ”Kasino” night to raise money for her medical bills.
These are the amazing women who organized the event taking a quick second to pose for a picture with Krystal. They all did such a great job.
These fabulous treats, created by Sugar Dreams, were donated to the event. I just love the saying on the cake, “Attitude is Everything.”
Isn’t she just adorable? This cute little chocolate lab generously donated and auctioned off… I was soooo tempted.
As the evening progressed, lighting became a bit of a problem. We were outdoors at the Seville Country Club. I was able to get a few decent shots by using my Gary Fong Lightsphere with the cap off the top. The patio area was covered so I bounced off the ceiling. I used my 50mm 1.4 the whole time.
